You are quite right, the real threat to these companies is going to come from MSFT and ORCL, they are developing BI like products as we speak. The IBM bundling will add incremental revenues to the companies and enable IBM to tailor their products to work well with them, IBM hasn't got the resources or will to enter yet another line of software and hope to compete with two well-entrenched market leaders.
