I've done my fair share of web page design/construction and that is some polished/refined stuff they have there. Graphically, very pleasing without taking a month of sundays to download.
I haven't dug that deeply into the bowels of html, applets and java myself. But I found the site to be 'painless' to use. Most people don't appreciate design of that magnitude. I think it is like music in the movies - if you don't notice it, it's perfect. On the ECHOmedia site it is so easy to dismiss the design since it doesn't get in your face. Most people expects the equivalent of a three ton, chrome plated, gas guzzling, handles like sh*t, classic american car in mint condition. You really feel it when you try to drive it (And what special kind of feeling it is!). Instead they find a sleek, economical, stylish sedan that just reeks business. [ok, I'm going a little overboard here, but it's friday midnight and the opened beer can beside me is not full anymore :)].
In short, I agree with you. |
