' My problem is in finding people with the manufacturing controls systems experience'

'I need a little help in finding out about embedded systems. I am
looking for training resources, to include seminars, books, videos. I am looking for people with controls experience.

I am trying to build an assessment team that will visit our critical
suppliers and assess the status of their Y2K efforts. My problem is in finding people with the manufacturing controls systems experience to anchor the teams. Staffing the IS side is no problem. The people are expensive, but there is a large base to build from. There are fewer controls people to draw from. I'm also of the opinion that this is the issue that will sink most companies.

Why do I think that? Because as I talk to the Y2k people they
generally aren't in control of that area, or aren't concerned about
it. Because as I ask how they are ensuring the compliance of their
controls the answers fall into two categories 1) our stuff doesn't
give or receive dates and 2) we are asking the manufacturers.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Funny story before I go. I found out yesterday that the database I am using to track our suppliers Y2k effort is not Year 2000 compliant. '
