V1,

I was moved by your post sharing the story of your father's battle with cancer. I have also lost people close to me to cancer, but never anyone quite so close: my stepfather, an uncle, an aunt and several close friends. I have several friends who are battling the disease now in one form or another. Cancer can be horrible and so can the treatments.

I also want to acknowledge that I was a little bullheaded in my post to you last Saturday, as I can sometimes be. It was the tail end of a long day of solo parenting two wonderful but high need children. The Mr. Hyde was beginning to emerge when I read your post and I took offense without just cause. I certainly think we agree more than disagree regarding the value of MOGN but, even so, well reasoned opposing views are one of the most valuable aspects of SI.

Once in a while I tend to fanaticize about the potential of MGI-114 on the thread. But if someone is casually lurking on the thread and has not read all of the posts, a little information can be misleading. Perhaps I should include cautionary statements in each post that also includes the words "blockbuster drug." You were correct to point out that Salagen is the cake of the MOGN investment and, at this point, MGI-114 can be seen as nothing more than icing. That icing could get nice and thick, perhaps even smother the cake, or it could disappear altogether. At this point the icing is still free and MOGN is one good looking cake.

My two year old son just woke up and says he has a "great big poopy diaper." Hmmm. Off to other things. Enjoy the weekend all.

David
