Thanks Gary heres a few things my search engine came up with:
From article about Bre-X Calgary Sun April 7,97
High-profile Wall Street analyst Andrew Racz said it's no coincidence that rumors have been planted over the Internet and in the media in recent weeks suggesting Bre-X doesn't have the gold. Racz said that smacks of a campaign to sell Bre-X stock short, by driving down its share price. "Almost anybody with a lot of money knows how to play the short-selling game," said Racz, director of research for New York-based investment firm Bishop, Rosen & Co. Inc.
Toronto Star article: U.S. PROBE SOUGHT ON INDONESIA AND BRE-X. This article reports that Andrew Ratz, head of international research for the New York brokerage firm of Bishop, Rosen & Company, is calling for a U.S. congressional investigation into the back-room dealings and ownership struggles over Busang. Ratz has written to Senator Alphonse D'Amato, Chairman of the U.S. Banking Committee, calling for an inquiry. "Canada's reputation as a nation with solid investment rules and the ability of Indonesian based ventures to raise money in the United States, could be greatly damaged if Indonesia is allowed to take property away from international investors who bought shares in Bre-X. If the current trend continues, the Busang property will be chipped up in history's largest `insider circus' rampart with favoritism practices illegal by democratic standards and unacceptable to our security laws," Ratz is reported to have written to D'Amato.
