I don't think God wants us Religious.
If we become religious then we are utterly out of control.
The Father first just wants us to talk to Him as a caring Father.
It's a normal language and affection from our hearts .
From there THEN we can become what God wants......
.....and it ain't religious.

Now to complete the cycle.. It's great to talk to God.
But, He will talk to your spirit. You can hear Him easily
"if you aren't religious".
You also Hear Him better if you know His Word and you really want to obey His guidance....His guidance is never religious.
Religious is what the pharisees were...that's why they were so consumed with rules they couldn't see the Father when He came to
earth in the flesh as His Word and Son....Lord Jesus.

So, it begins by just talking to God all alone, then read is Word and listen...
