It's decision time.

I have to decide in the next few days on a suitable processor for our
latest project. For various reasons(*), the choice narrows down to
either Analog Devices ADSP2181 or Patriot Scientific's PSC1000 (ShBoom).

The ShBoom is my personal favourite by a long way but....

The project will entail the use of about 500-5000 parts over the next
2-6 years. No, I can't buy them all upfront. Will ShBoom be available?
Does or will anyone use it in significant volume? I don't mind taking a
gamble but I'd like a better feel for the odds :-)

I would appreciate all comments and advice, even those that suggest an
intensive course of medication. What do *you* think?
