Peter: I don't know the answers Peter but let me say this, inspite of the differences in languages, slight variations in culture, food habits, religious diversities, and other various and sundry regional differences there seems to be some sort a thread binding the country and its people together. I don't know what this is, perhaps it is the 'Hindu culture' (not the religion) running through the vein of the people in spite of the existence of various religions, perhaps it has something to do with the genes,or may be it is a geographical thing. Anyway I don't know what it is but from travelling through various parts of the country I have noticed the presence of an invisible force that somehow binds the people together no matter what language one speaks or what religion one belongs to,go figure.
I certainly hope the country survives as it is now in spite of what others might say. Then again the world power-politics the way it is I am sure there will be 'political forces' who might wish for a destabilized, broken-up,disintegrated India as opposed to a unified country,be it Pakistan,China,Russia,Western Europe, the U.S. or even Bangla Desh but that is besides the point and that is strictly from a political and strategic point of view.Sorry I digress,so let me stop my speculation and conjecture. |
