I know your post is not to me, but forgive me and just read it.

The kind of manipulation in stock I have alluded to in most of my posts is the kind where "anal-ysts" spout an epitaph at an opportune time, say an upgrade when the stock is already flying or a downgrade when a stock is being pummelled with the net result of aggravating (depends) the existing situation. A perfect example is the SB's downgrade of CPQ on fabricated propaganda, IMHO.
