Integrion, MSFDC and First Global Commerce to Highlight Panel at EBPP Symposium
Representatives from the nation's top consortia will discuss alternative approaches to electronic bill presentment and payment. Integrion, the nation's largest consortia of banks, has 20 member banks. A recent announcement of an affiliation with CheckFree, the nation's largest bill payment processor, puts Integrion in a leading position in the industry.
MSFDC, an alliance between Microsoft and First Data Corp, was announced late last year. While a number of banks have expressed concern over potential bank bypass of the payment system, a number of banks have nevertheless joined the MSFDC Advisory Board and have undertaken pilot programs of the service.
First Global Commerce, the third major group, consists of an alliance between Hewlett-Packard, Verifone, and EDS. A number of banks have also joined this group which will pilot a program this year.
