I have no stake whatsoever in what is emerging as the
"cockfight o' the day" at SI. Just began looking at NETZ this
week precisely because of some serious spamming on another thread.
And because DCLK is a company that my firm is doing business with.
OC, why don't you cool it for a while? I know that Oprah
has championed free speech and won in Amarillo, but you can't really
be getting much in the way of jollys out of this bantering back and
forth. I know, clever fellow that you no doubt are, you could well
argue that you didn't pick this fight and have just been kindly
(or not so kindly) pointing out what may appear to be NETZ
over-exhuberance and boosterism at all costs.
But, really, is this all THAT interesting?
As for Over, you seem like a really intense and intelligent
person. And I really appreciate your insights into MM games, etc.
Because, frankly, that whole netherworld makes me very, very uneasy.
But... is this fun? There seems to be some ad hominem thrown in
here for taste. And, hey, I've done my share of bear-baiting throughout
the years... especially if the bear is messing with my honey. But...
what's the end game? As you point out, OC could become somebody
else with a change of ID. And if he's really such a Machiavelle,
maybe he'll see this as some sort of great game: completely changing
his MO for a while.
I suspect this is all just a glorified way of killing time
until Matty gives us his take on Burgess' credibility and how
solid Z Tek looks up close. Which is the reason I've been lurking
around here today.
I'm going to back to quiet lurking. And, you two do what you
will. The only really cool denouement that I keep waiting for is
OC, in tears, breaking down under intense cross-examination, noting
that the glove is a perfect fit, and confessing to many short-age
sins. As this ain't gonna happen... I think I'm gonna take a walk
on a beautiful day. Then check back for Matty's much-awaited
post.
