Power Supply >>if it conks out after 2 yrs instead of 3, I've had my money's worth.<<

Thanks for the feedback. It is always good to hear from an actual user. I seriously doubt that the silencer will fail after two years. Even run of the mill power supplies last longer than that. 275 watts is on the high end of power recommendations so I don't think there is much sacrifice with the lower rating.

One should consider the overall configuration. If you want dual processors and high speed drives you will probably want as much cooling as you can get. With the new PII 333 Deschutes processor less heat is generated so cooling requirements would be reduced.

One needs to consider cooling the case as well. Cooling the individual components (processor and power supply) will have a reduced effect if one does not also cool the case.

SuperG....

You have me thinking that the Silencer 275 ATX, full ATX PC Power and cooling case, PII 333 and the Intel DK440LX , 128MB Corsair ECC Grade A RAM, and Millenium II AGP is a good base configuration.
