OFF TOPIC:>Now John... you and I both this is not about whether or not our "leading" man had an affair in the Oral Office with a 21-year old intern with remarkable White House access.<
Yes, we do know that Ron. Read my post.
You might think I'm a fan of Clinton, but with few exceptions I consider politicians the fruit of a poisoned tree. I would love to see an investigation (non-partisan, of course) of the campaign finance practices of Republicans and Democrats alike. Surely you agree that both parties have been busy perverting and exploiting the democratic process. Clinton certainly has. How about Gringrich, Lott, and Armey? Actually, our three Republican leaders have two (2) things in common with Bill Clinton: 1. They watched Vietnam on TV (a crime itself in some people's ledgers) and 2. they milk the election process for every dollar it is worth, ignring any notion of the spirit of the law. What Statesman. In this regard, Ron, I'll give you a chance to win back that bourbon and water by predicting that the next President of the USA will John McCain. Double or nothing? Why McCain? Because he is going to make campaign finance reform the big issue, his issue, and Americans WANT campaign finance reform. Of course, campaign finance reform doesn't have any innate prurient interest, and thus the white-wing media will resist it, unless they can uncover some call girls, etc., associated with fund raisers, which shouldn't be that difficult to do. Look out WIlliam Bennett! At any rate, when McCain is sitting in the White House in Y2K, I pray that we GRNOers are sitting around a Charleston bar drinking toasts to Bill Carraway, that Bill Clinton is in Little Rock, or on a rockpile, that Starr is at Pepperdine living with the vengeful Aunt who potty trained him to early, and that all is well with the world.
