Dear Wesley, (somewhat off topic) Sector is absolutely correct: I have been a long term holder of Cascade Communications and Ascend Communications. Cascade ran out of significant growth selling their top-notch frame relay switches 14 months ago, and took a hit to its stock price. Ascend's Mory Ejabat saw that his growth in remote access switches was slowing and taking a hit from competition. So he bought Cascade. Today, Ascend is still growing slower in remote access, but Cascade has developed state of the art ATM switches for WANs. This product is and will produce HUGE growth for the combined companies, until Ascend comes out with its new and improved remote access switches, based on Cascade technology. Ascend would definitely be in the teens without having purchased Cascade...a master stroke by Ejabat (for which he was roundly criticised by analysts, when the combined company missed 1 quarter.) IMHO wj
