I remember way back during the long-forgotten "energy crisis" that, while we import crude oil, the US has more coal reserves than just about anyone. Any technology that can turn it into a clean-burning alternative energy source could have good long-term potential. While GTL has a relatively high cost now, it's increasing use and improvement are bound to bring the cost curve down. Good prospects for companies like Rentech.
