Think Positive.

>See, Compaq was one of those computer companies complaining during the launch of the latest Justice Department investigation on Microsoft. They were unhappy about Redmond's pressuring tactics, unfair business dealings, and general hard-to-deal-with-ness. Now, if I'm not mistaken, and I don't think I am, Apple is currently working on a next-generation operating system. Not just any operating system, but one ideal for high-end workstations and servers. Not only one ideal for high-end workstations and servers, but one whose applications will run easily on Windows NT and Windows 95 -- the backbone of most enterprise networks. Compaq is one of the biggest producers of computers in the world, and just who are they targeting with their workstations and servers? The enterprise. Compaq has been frustrated in the past with the suppliers of their operating systems. Compaq still bundles Windows NT with its workstations and servers, though, because right now it's the only viable solution for their bread-and-butter customers. Yet, Windows NT 5.0 has reportedly been delayed until 1999 and we all know about Microsoft's litigation problems. Now, perhaps it's me, but I think this scenario represents a really big score for Apple. If Apple were to convince Compaq, or any other major player in the enterprise market, to bundle Rhapsody, all involved would stand to benefit.<
