There was some talk about a technical corrections bill limiting some 1997 to 1998 Roth games. Whether yours is something they don't want to happen, I don't know.

Let me ask: What are you trying to accomplish with this?

Why would you do THAT, rather than say, make a 1997 DEDUCTIBLE IRA now and roll that over to a Roth. Why did you specify a NON-DEDUCTIBLE contribution for 1997?
