Robert -- Thanks for explaining your reasons for NOT being a CKFR customer. This is important. One big danger for CKFR is the possibility that only a tiny fraction of online geeks and gadget lovers will ever want to use the service, and the rest of the world will just go on licking stamps every month.
However, the service is now FREE where I bank -- Citibank. I think other banks are using it as a loss leader as well.
And it IS automatically tied into checkwriting, via Quicken. I click a couple of times, type in the first two or three letters of the payee, which pops up the full name, type in the amount (if it's a recurring bill, like the cable-TV company, I don't even have to do that.) Then, click to send, and not only is the bill paid but the details are in my Quicken register. And I know within 24 hours when the payment clears, too.
I'm not trying to sell you on it. I just think it WILL catch on. Contrary opinions invited. |
