Well, AOL is the internet for dummies. Beginners at computers buy AOL thinking that is the only internet service out there, in some cases. AOL has become so famous that it is the default service i guess you can call it for beginners. I know from experience by giving private computer courses that people who dont know anything about computers must go to aol. They are so computer illeterate its hard for them to even open AOL by themselves. But its easy on aol though because it is all just a whole bunch of mouse clicks rather then random searches like on the internet. Its much easier for them too just click on all the channel keys. Also most of the people on AOL spend most of their time in chat rooms anyways. An advantage in AOL that I found is their instant messenger. But now that they have a free aol instant messager there is no reason for any computer literate with the internet too get AOL. Also they upped their price from $20 to $21. The rumor has it that they are also thinking about charging for chat rooms. That will scare away members quickly. Also they are predicted to move their pricesm up even more in the future. This scaring away even more customers.
