<<"Price is a further advantage for Franklin's Tempest. At an estimated $19,000 per box, or between $850 and $1000 per port, they compare favorably with their IP telephony gateway rivals.">>
Thank you Martin for your help. Now may I continue my questioning?
Is it correct that for $ 19,000 you get a box which enables one to operate 19 to 22 phones on it? That comes to $ 850 to $ 1000 per phone, right?
Now, according to earlier estimates by the FTEL bulls, won't each phone call cost between .075 and .10 per call? Aren't other IP services charging much less than that NOW? Isn't WCOM estimated to be charging FTEL four cents per call?
Now, for this money, can you call every phone in the US?
What happens when you get a bad connection? Do you then have another phone that you use? What do you do when you find out you have a bad connection? Do you hang up on the customer and say you'll call back on a different phone?
Really, I don't claim to be an expert on the phone system itself. Most of my analysis is based on what I do know. I know the company has had a lot of exciting press releases in the past, and the company has not nearly lived up to my expectations based on them. I also know that they hardly have any sales, and that I would rather buy, based on these prices, AFTER they prove their ability to sell product in significant numbers. If they do finally prove themselves able to sell product, then I will consider a purchase.
However, if you could share with other FTEL readers the answers to the questions I gave in this post, that would be greatly appreciated by them, I'm sure. If you could also tell them what the status is of the Intrine order, I'm sure that would be appreciated, too.
I have more to personally gain by FTEL being success than being a failure. If they produce the storm everyone expects, I will be ready to jump on immediately because I've been following it. If they fail to achieve the results most expect, all I will get is an empty, "I thought so". Big deal. Give me the $.
FTEL: ~ $ 4.625
