Recently found out that CDC is now conducting field trials with Trinity Biotech's Uni-gold HIV test platform. First batch of Unigold test kits have been shipped to Dr. Branson's group at CDC for extensive field tests of African sera. It now appears they are now becoming quite serious and are now " kicking the tires" on Trinity's test platforms. Since the majority of Sub- Saharan countries are the source of HIV-2, I would imagine the CDC is now becoming interested in these test results using the Unigold HIV-1 , HIV-2 test kits.
