Well, I was referring to tight stops on Yahoo. But even if it's pushing the stocks up I don't think I'm going to try to change that if I'm shorting my few little hundred shares. I'd rather lose $1,000 with my tight stop and contribute to the problem than watch Yahoo gain 30 points and be ruined. But I suppose you are right, the cycle of shorts covering at a loss is pushing these issues up...but they don't go to infinity. Eventually the peak is reached. It's a good point though, if you think it's a blowoff you need to sit tight and watch her settle down or you'll be taken out of the short position right at the peak. A very tough game. I'd rather bet a couple thousand on puts and lose it all. I understand that game better. :)
