I was trying to do some web surfing on Arxcel yesterday and did not come up with much... Arxcel's web site appears to be history. Then I figured I'd take a look at the two companies I recall had relationships with Arxcel (before the merger) which I believe are Hucom and Transoft. I did a search of "Transoft" on SI just to make sure I was on the right track and did find a relevant post by Douglas N.

There's a link to a Craig S1 post as well. Craig's on top of the action back in July '97.

According to Douglas' post <<Hucom OEM agreement is with Transoft for their StudioBoss storage units using Arcxel.>>

Well, I figured I'd check out Transoft web site.

<<Transoft Technology Corporation (Transoft) develops and markets high-speed networks for digital imaging markets such as digital video, multimedia graphics, prepress, CAD-CAM and medical imaging.StudioBOSS FC is a product line of ultra-fast digital computer networks for SGI, Windows NT and Macintosh computer systems. Based on the Fibre Channel network standard, StudioBOSS FC networks can transmit data at 100 megabytes per second, and are designed for motion picture and television studio production, post-production and graphics production. Networking products include:

-- StudioBOSS network control software for channel-based networks
-- Suite Manager Project management and Security software
-- FC Net Director /RAID Fibre Channel driver and storage management and RAID software
-- ProTOWER FC Fibre Channel disk storage subsystems
-- ProRAID FC Fibre Channel RAID hardware controlled array storage subsystems
-- Fibre Channel switches and hubs>>

I took a look to see if there was more info on the switches and hubs. There is but I was surprised by what I found. A 16 port, Class 2/3 switch. Doesn't sound like Arxcel. Sounds like Brocade.

If I'm right, I wonder what happened to Arxcel?

On the TA front. It's time for ANCR to make a stand. ANCR should have a positive coming week, closing higher at the end of the week than where it starts and back above the 200 DMA ($7 5/8). I will be quite dismayed if ANCR closes below $7. But I don't believe this is going to happen and I plan on putting some money down to support this belief.
