Bankruptcies topic...
Oh my! Very troubling stats, at the
risk of adding a note that clearly
belongs on the Kahuna thread, I wonder
what a twenty percent drop in the DOW
would do to the number of filings.

Mohan: I have a problem, maybe you
can give me your opinion. I am ever
waiting for a market correction to
buy into equities. However, that
correction, when and if it happens,
will undoubtedly damage the American
economy. Sure I have blown it having
not been in on this great bull market,
but I sometimes wonder if I should
ever buy into this house of cards.

Should a young person, who is mainly
committed to saving rather than
investing, having time on his side,
simply chuck the idea of being
in stocks? If a lifetime of savings
is enough, why own stocks?

I was quite young in the 70's so
my perception of the danger of
inflation is limited. In fact, I've
always thought Greenspan's greenspeak
sounded foolish--if most Americans
have debt, than inflation is a good
thing. Clearly Greenspan is looking
out for the rich, for whom inflation
is indeed damaging.
