The post you responded to was not about abortion. I was discussing the issue of the rapture and that post was an extention of that. If pre-trib believers are correct Christians will be raptured before the great tribulation period spoken of in the book of Revelation, if not we will be here and suffer through it. Some think God would not make us suffer so much to have us go through it and I was pointing out that through history Christians have already suffered much and it is not correct to have the view that we won't suffer for our testimony of Jesus.

On the subject of abortion I believe life begins at conception not at birth. So abortion takes an innocent life. The word says God knit us together in the womb and again that before we were born he knew us (which some have various interpretations of what that could mean). But the point is God creates a life and abortion kills God's new life. No crime of this nature should be legal and the fact that it is and so many approve shows the depth of moral decay that is in the world. Who raises the child? That this is a problem in society also points to the moral decay. Of course, the parents would. If they do not want to that is hardly an excuse to kill the child. Adoption is an option for parents who don't want their child. The guilt, pain, and suffering of mothers who realize what they have done after abortions is never discussed by the people behind abortion and it's supporters. Those mothers have the rest of their lives to think about it.
