I disagree. 2/3 of the way through a quarter means that there is at least 1/3 of the revenue to go - maybe more. A lot of revenue is predictable - long term contracts, backlog, maintenance, etc. A good chunk of the new revenue gets picked up in the last month in new deals. That's $500 MM or so - $125 MM/week.
Again, I stand by my statements that in the ORCL environment, messengers get shot, and Lane and Ellison (and everyone else) have little visibility into the REAL numbers until the day after the quarter closes. If the last week of the month stunk, they'd be in bad shape. And, I believe that going into the last 2 weeks, ORCL had a lot to catch up.
In other quarters, there's been a lot of buzz around town and in the financial community about how ORCL "made it". There's none at all that I've seen.
Yeah, I agree it's rumor based, but there's too many stray rumors that are adding up. |
