Beta is alive and well in Asia. I have family in Japan, and I bought a couple Beta machines in addition to my two VHS ones. The betas are FAR superior with many more features. For example, on most VHS machines, when you hit slow-motion or freeze a frame, you get imperfections in the images and/or choppy movement. With my beta, I can "scroll" through frames fluidly and freeze frames with snapshot quality. This proves my point. Superior product that did not do well in the US. I would like to see Apple swallow its pride and begin selling Intel-based PCs with the Apple brand name. There is a ton of business out there that Apple could carve a slice from. They just need to make the "PC" card less expensive or make it standard. They use an Intel chip on them. Glenn
