Very good news article, nice to know that WA senators are keeping an eye on the senator from UT and his partisan attack on Gates and MSFT.

Though the committee agreed to add the witnesses, Sen. Slade Gorton took to the floor of the Senate yesterday and charged that the "aim of the hearing is not to improve the software industry, but to attack Microsoft and give the federal government more control over the future of this company."

The war of words likely will only heat up before the hearing, which
now has been moved to the largest Senate hearing room. Gorton and
Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., say they will escort Gates to the
hearing as a show of support.
