Gary: There are many types of gaps. The fact that a stock gaps open does NOT guarantee that it will move to the same direction of the gap. There are lots of traps that make you stumble and gaps are some of them.

Since you are relatively green in this field, I would like to suggest to you that you should broaden your knowledge by reading first, then after you get a feel of this thing, start your VIRTUAL tradings. You will begin to see the value of tea leaf reading.
