Carol,

Shields used the words 'asexual morphology' not non-sexual. I think there is quite a difference. So any erotic or sexual tones to your addition to the story are not misplaced in the characters you created. Mermaids are in many ways the embodiment of the allure and eroticism of sexuality.

However this is a discussion best left to the other thread and I'll comment over there.
