I just discovered MAPX, and read through all the SI reports
posted over the past year. I was interested in the discussion
of whether MAPX was a "dying" company with old IBM AS/400
technology. I am impressed with the large installed base of
clients that MAPX has... if they can keep them...

No one seems to have remarked here on the Annual Report filed
by MAPX in Dec 1997:
sec.yahoo.com

Under Product Development, the management addresses the NT
world. They say that Release 5 of MAPICS XA is due out in 3rd
Q of 98 and will include improvements in client/server browser
capability. They also say that they are developing MAPX products
to run in Java development environment [aimed at NT market].
They currently have a prototype of PDMPlus running on NT.
So, it sounds to me like they are looking ahead to the NT server
market, and are not just going to hold on to the IBM AS/400
client base forever.
