Does the name "Sowbug" derive from a "bug on a female hog" ?

Jack, we already made 37,000, but I'll tell you anyway because we're laying the foundation for 38,000:

A sowbug is a small bug that looks a lot like a "pillbug," which is that little 1/4-inch long tank-like oval bug that rolls into a ball when you disturb it. I'm no entomologist, but the two are so similar in appearance that they must be closely related.

If you go to my home page (click my profile for the link) you will get my real name, which sounds a little like "sow," which is the basis for a childhood nickname.

As for the etymology of the word "sowbug," your guess is as good as mine.
