That is the best statement I've read here in weeks. :-) But even Merrill is getting wise to this. I was one of those Merrill brokers charging $220 for my opinion. Merrill Lynch's management thinks that commissions from stock trading is heading for zero cost. They actually think that all stock trading will be free within 3 years. That is why they are making a huge push into asset management and charging fees. You hand over all your money to a complete stranger and they charge you 1% to 3% per year, every year, for the privilege.
