Is Ascend well positioned ? Speaking to a friend in the business at the weekend, he indicated some doubt about Ascend's future business, with the exception of their WAN products (esp. ATM). It was literally a 30 second discussion, with no opportunity for deeper discussion, but it got me wondering. I'll post some detail on his analysis when I next speak to him. Re options: ouch! I've been in my current (high-tech) company for several years, been rated in the top 5%, and have fewer options than the average Ascend engineer. Must be time to polish up the resume and find a co. that gives out decent options. AF
