I just can't figure out who would buy them. Peoplesoft doesn't seem interested. Oracle could but they seem to be doing their own thing. Vantive looks o.k. though on a standalone basis, at least for this year. Business is fine and they are making progress selling to non-technology companies. I don't think there is much reason to think VNTV will be a great performer over the near-term but business trends are positive and so I think it is worth an investment as part of a diversified portfolio.
