RE: Of course, that's why they need IBM - because their own manufacturing is so darn successful.

Paul,
We know AMD has poor yields. We know AMD has huge unfilled demand for their chips.
Getting IBM to produce K# chips should make their OEM's more confident about the on going supply of AMD chips. That 'should' mean that CPQ wil be cumfortable putting R&D $$ into new AMD boxes.
That will increase the 'potential' for greater unit sales in the further out.
AMD has it's own road map just like INTC.
If I were CPQ, I would be very happy to see that IBM, some one I know can make chips effectively, will be on board to ensure supply of a part that I can not get enough of right now going foward.

So how does this impact INTC ?
Two analysts say no impact, BUY INTC.
I disagree,
Good luck

Jim
BTW, IBM Expected wafer starts in Q3, how long from Wafer start to usable chip, For DRAM's it is 5-6 weeks, what is it for CPU's ?
