trilobyte/Kevin,

trilobyte asks what caught my eye about MAPX.. and I have to
admit that initially it was the low P/E. Kevin says that he doesnt
think P/E alone is a very useful stock picking tool, and I will
agree that it is not when used "alone". However, I usually use
P/E to find stocks that are either not appreciated or underfollowed.
After doing some research, I will then buy depending on whether or
not the company has a niche, or is somehow superior to their
competitors. My biggest holdings are SUNW, CPQ and STK (which all
have P/Es of 17-25. Personally, I do not like buying high P/E
stocks (like MSFT).

So, my first worry about MAPX was that it had some old IBM technology
and was hanging on for dear life... and about to get blown out of
the water by SAP, BAAN, etc. I am still a little uncomfortable
about what I have read... I wish the upgrade of MAPICS XA to Java/
client server was not so far away. Will MAPX's client base patiently
wait while MAPX takes the next 1-2 years to convert to client/server?
Or will they defect to competitors?
