I don't disagree with your points but PSFT just doesn't see it that way. They have outlined a growth strategy and are executing on it and it hasn't to this point included FOA. VNTV works with PSFT as is. If PSFT thought it was important to have FOA to win deals, they would acquire VNTV. However, they don't feel that way. At some point they might but it hasn't slowed them thus far and the low-hanging fruit is still plentiful for them. PSFT is the least back-end loaded company in enterprise software so they are not under pressure to do anything but business as usual (which happens to be knocking the cover off the ball). That is what they have stated and no matter how much sense it seems to make to you and me, the fact is that PSFT is no big hurry.
