<<< Cancer is a genetic phenomenon.>>>

That is what you posted. You didn't say anything about prostate cancer. Even with prostate cancer, it is safe to say that not only genetics but other factors, such as environment, lifestyle, etc, may also cause prostate cancer. It's easier to prove, but it's much more difficult to disprove. It has been proven that certain phenotypes are more prone to get prostate cancer and it tends to run in families, but nobody has ever ruled out the the possibility of environmental and lifestyle effects. Susceptibility to get prostate cancer doesn't mean that such an individual will get the disease, but it's means that under certain conditions, it may trigger the onset of the disease. In this case cause and effect are blurry at best. Tell me what is the cause and what is the effect: genetics or 'certain conditions'. In the absence of these conditions, the susceptible cells may not proliferate and does not cause cancer. But without the presence of these susceptible genes, those 'certain conditions' may do no harms to the cells.
