Not only has Mr. Smith, in various occasions, responded to Vile-Shit in the manner you suggest, but also many on this board have done the same.

While many have pleaded to ignore the idiot, both the responses from Mr. Smith and Mr. Sman are appropriate.
Mr. Smith's posts have consistently pointed out that what Vile-Shit continues to spread here. It is logical that at a given point, if REASON does not work, then a less friendly method will have merit to be used.
Mr. Sman's posts reveal crystal clear the real agenda of the liar.
In research, I have to follow the methodology that in the absence of hard evidence, in trying to prove a theory, the one theory with the most logic and common sense has to be the one that one must choose.
If you accept that the participation in the stock market is a serious endeavor where serious money is made and lost, then you must also accept the fact that not all the participants are exactly Mr. & Mrs. Dreamy Nicety. This premise must be followed, particularly in the Penny-Stock arena where regulation and supervision are indeed more difficult to execute, and where fraud and less-than-ethical-actions do take place.
I believe that the quality of the serious investors in this particular thread allows for serious doubts, indeed questions. However, they need to be presented in a manner that not only is serious in its presentation, but it must also show that the individual presenting said questions is either well versed and read, (in the best case scenario) in the industry, the company, and, in investing/trading concepts. At worst, that individual should be well versed in at least one of those items, otherwise, such individual is either a complete liar, a complete fool, or worse yet, both.
For example, someone that seem to meet the profile of a serious individual presenting valid questions is Mr. Atin Malaviya, personally, I have my reservations, because of his specific motivation to "show us the way". However, one must discount my opinion because I admit I do not trust my own shadow, but that is my own problem.
The point here is that Mr. Malaviya, was never a liar, offensive, or obnoxious. In fact, he did the honorable thing. He acknowledged that the FTEL thread, (in his opinion), was somehow overloaded with people too much "in love with" FTEL (personally, I do agree a bit with this perception, but that is another story), and he went and opened up another thread ("VOIP").
One must arrive at their own conclusions, however, there has to be a meaning to the following fact: the FTEL thread has well over 29,000 posts, Mr. Malaviya's posts has +/- 283 posts. To be fair, since OCT 26, 97 when VOIP started, FTEL has had an additional 10,000, from that reference date.
At the very minimum, it tells me that the FTEL thread may give me a little more information than VOIP.
Then it will be up to me to decide what information I need most and what value I will give to this information. As market participant, I consider more valuable the sentiment of a larger sample of a market. If I want more technical type of information, or if I think that emotions are running rampant, then, there are plenty other sites where to get the technical stuff, (including VOIP), and it is really up to me to decide how rational this segment is. Does that give me the right to go and become destructive and attack like a raving lunatic?

There is a considerable population (mid to large in size), that holds and trades FTEL, and they "lurk" this thread, such population could be as sophisticated as say, a market maker reading this thing, to a person who bought FTEL because someone "gave them a tip", and he/she went and bought with no further research, and did so at $9.00 or $10.00.
Unfortunately, many of the lurkers may actually believe the crap that Vile-Shit provides in industrial quantities.
Mr. Smith has provided the more complete picture/explanation about whatever particular item that the idiot has simply "exposed" in its negative and vicious way.
Mr. Sman has presented a very valid theory as to the motives of the same entity.
Vile-Shit demonstrates a case of chronic selective amnesia as to what it brings to the thread, particularly after many of the responses from Mr. Smith.
It also has shown an uncanny ability to be extremely obnoxious, much like a thick "parked fart", it never leaves the room... even if you "fan it away".
In addition, this entity at the very least is attacking, what belongs to many here, not only that, but it does it with ill-intent and indeed with a very high probability that it will gain from the actions of others as a result of its comments.
That alone is reason enough to counter-attack its actions. Remember that once one opens fire, the same can not ask for "decency", "clemency", "consideration", or "compassion".
So, all I can say is that the best medicine for all of us is to educate ourselves in the best possible manner in the issues that matter here. In my opinion, these issues are four:
1. Learn all one can about the Internet and Internet Telephony, including as much of its technology as each one of our brains will allow.

2. Learn all one can about the company itself, imagine one is going to marry this thing, (in a way, it is even more important), learn if this company snores or not, and why? Does it have bad breath or not, and why?

These may be many, from another speculative stock, to a "dow industrials" stock, to taking the money and buy into the Disney Vacation Club, or whatever-the-hell-pleases you.
In other words, if FTEL is not for one, then why on this earth should one spend time destroying other people's work, without a factual base??
One wonders why Vile-Shit did not go to the SM, it could have asked all the questions it posts here, better yet, it could have obtained the answers from the horse's mouth. Then again, as the Jack Ass it is, those considerations can not be possibly be connected to it
