Scott,

Funny that Wheel of Time would come up here. When I said in a previous post I was a partner in a development house, I was talking about Legend Entertainment.

Wheel of Time is not "signed" with Legend - in fact, Legend is actually the developer of the game. At this point our company is not doing any publishing of its own; we are focused entirely on product development for other publishers. Wheel of Time and our other Unreal product are both being created for large publishers.

Our decision to abandon publishing was driven by the polarization of this business. To survive you have to be very, very good at what you do. Our strong points are game design and art direction, and so we gave up marketing, sales, and distribution and dedicated ourselves to development. We teamed up with Epic to combine our strengths with their incredible technology. The first fruit of this partnership is The Wheel of Time, a fantasy action/strategy game based on the best-selling series of novels written by Robert Jordan. We are trying to bust the traditional 1st person shooter genre by combining action, strategy, and some role playing.

There will be an announcement relatively soon about the publisher for this product.

Regards,
Michael Verdu
