Gary -
With the understanding that there is a "special relationship" between and Yurie and Split Rock, why do you feel it is a valid assumption to arbitrarily remove Split Rock's revenue from the equation?
After all, we are not talking about a commodity, like a contract to pave a road. Yurie Systems has top-notch equipment, and have been able to differentiate their product with features like AQueMan, which is patented.
Doesn't it seem even remotely possible to you that Yurie would have won all or part of the business anyway?
I have seen others use your approach when debating an issue: 1) Present oneself as calm and considered. 2) Assume a slightly condescending attitude. 3) Pitch several reasonable arguments (strikes, right down the middle) to support your opinion, and then: 4) Deliver a change-up. This pitch generally makes a rather grand assumption to support your point of view, but is presented as fact. 5) Conclude your argument, using the "fact" presented in the change-up, as proof of your correctness.
I'm not complaining; on the contrary, reading most of your posts is entertaining, in the same way I enjoy looking through new car ads. You know - searching deeply through the fine print, which will provide the real cost of that "$199 Down, $199/Month Lexus LS-400"!
