Squetch, it's not quantity that counts, it quality.

Part 1 of 3: ABC Broadcast:

1.2 million people get Cancer each year. 550,000 die from it.

President Nixon gave a speech about Cancer.
He ended the speech with "I am not a crook!"

$30 billion has been spent on Cancer research in the last 27 years.
$5 billion (17%) of it was spent in 1997.

40% of American Cancer victims survive at least 5 years.

There are more than 100 different types of cancers!

Today, 80% of children with leukemia are cured. 27 years ago it was 5%!

Billions have been spent to develop techniques to cut the cancers out, or kill the cancer with radiation or drugs. This is a flawed approach. Cancer is actually hundreds of diseases requiring dozens of approaches.

Scientists are now targetting the genetic cause of Cancer(s). They know the exact genes that cause some of the more fatal cancers.

It was said that, in mice, they could even repair the damage done by Cancer.

They showed a disgusting, ugly, naked mouse that had been totally cured of cancer. When asked why this technique was not used on humans, the answer was "lack of money"!

The rest of the broadcast was a lot of BS about money. While Dr. Robert Meyer, the President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology was being interviewed, I thought that I saw a man disguised as a cleaner walking by wearing a "It's not too late to buy LGND stock" t-shirt. I could've sworn that he looked like Henry!

No biotech company was featured.
