Scrapps, I too had the server error but now got through
to V.90 update site at 3com.com
I just followed the yellow brick road. Guess what, this
time it is not a ROM swap for me on my Sportster 839:

Your modem can be upgraded by exchanging it for
a new, V.90 56K* standard modem.

When you place your order, we will ship you a
new modem with a software CD-ROM, installation
instructions and a return address label for
shipping your old modem. Once you receive your
new modem, please use the box it came in to send
your old modem back to us.

To process your upgrade order, we will need your
shipping information and a credit card number.
The credit card number will be kept on file; if
we don't receive your old modem within 30 days
