Swap, Why not just add more. I currently have 3 HD, & tape drive. Been thinking about a CD-R. I just have to much stuff!! The 4gb in drives is full, I have over 4gb of stuff on tape that I do not have room for. Using a Jaz for this purpose is simply too expensive.

My solution to this info overload was to add the third drive (2gb scsi hp about 355), and put older less used info to tape. Using something similar to what Seagate just announced. This solution was less costly than the JAZ I sent back, and much quicker. I leave a few hundred megs on the 2 gb drive free, and put the rest to tape.

I would love to add another HD, but given the relatively few times that I need the 4gb on tape, this solution is fine.

Now the CD-R on the other hand is appealing. With the current market for a 2x write, 4x read under $500, and media around 7.50. I could put the 4 gb on 6 CD's for a total cost of $545, and have the ability of adding 4 more gb for only another $45.00. This is very appealing, especially given the fact that CD speeds are increasing greatly.

If they could make a 20X CD rom, this solution would be perfect!!

Again, I hope this is taken in the manner which it is presented. That is that there are more and more alternative to IO, and some of these alternative offer price and performance advantages.

What IO needs is cheaper MEDIA. Give me JAZ disk for $40, and my answer is found. Give me Zip disk for $4.00 same thing..

Sell them to me for $100, and $18 respectfully, and you've got a problem.

This is why I am taking a more neutral position, from my very bullish position previously. It not that IO can't compete. They just have to start.

If you can sell this stock for $25 or over, I would do it. To much risk, for a potentially small reward. There are plenty of other stocks at a much more reasonable price, with earnings and revenue growth, as oppose to declines.
