Harry K., if your coins have numismatic value they should NOT be cleaned. The patina (tarnish) is much desired on valuable silver coins. There are of course various silver cleaning solutions. Some of the liquid ones are very safe to use if your aim is to only restore then to original brightness for you own personal pleasure. If you have any doubts about the value or what the effect on value might be to clean them...take them to a coin dealer. Most of them will be very helpful.

Good luck, Dave
