Bad explanation?

Dr. Schmidt evidently does not want to be linked with Novell as a buy/sell gauge. He's trying to do a job which I presume is to increase shareholder wealth. If he bought the thousand shares that you suggested, everyone will wonder, "Why only a thousand?" Some will see it as a sign to sell, others like yourself may buy more.

I'm sorry what I wrote before didn't make sense to you. I stick to fundamentals and results, not insider buying and selling.

Regarding Mr. Dunlap's decision to buy Sunbeam's stock, that was his decision to make. He wanted to be a signal for the investing public. I'm not suggesting the decision to do so is wrong. This decision is, I believe, within the scope of his liberty, whether a shareholder likes it or not. We all have different aversions to risk. For instance, I believe Cabletron will continue its decline in value today, but I'm still afraid to short the stock.
