Linda,

I think Apple moved e-Mate, and MessagePad technical staff all to
more improtant and exciting projects, such as "future" os development,
which possibly supported by Gates. Moreover, Apple tries to
consolidate the products into one os - MacOS, in the future mobile
pc's available in '99. The move totally makes sense.

The key os in the near future will be focused on Rhapsody, where there
are lots of works to be accomplished and will be available in about
nine months. Remember, there is a testimony in Senate house
yesterday and today, where Gates will defends Sun and Netscape's
complaints. Should Gates use Rhapsody (Unix-based) as part of their
future os to fight with Sun's Solaris in enterprise (since NT is not
as popular as Sun's Unix system in Federal, and Private Industries)?
It remains to be seen as Rhapsody is closer to be available in the
market.
