I haven't done a lot of analysis on PURW, but I did take a quick look at the IS. (I didn't see a BS in the earnings report). I got this information from Yahoo news for PURW. I used their Press Release: biz.yahoo.com I wasn't sure what "Retention income" was, but I assumed it wasn't operating income. Does anyone know what that is? Anyway, I was trying to figure out what their Operating income was, and here is what I figured out: Year Ended December 31, 1997 1996 Income before income taxes $2,547 234 LESS: Net gains on marketable securities 717 918 LESS: Retention income 703 LESS: Interest, dividend and other income 543 938 Operating Income 584 -1,622 Weighted average shares outstanding 7,534 7,683 Operating Income per share 0.08 -0.21 I am not impressed with .08 for the whole year. I was also curious that they did not report the quarterly income; only the annual. I like to see a BS in this report, but there wasn't one. Am I missing something? You seem very enthusiastic. Alan
