30 minute phone conversation with Lauri Hanover CFO, highlights! She called me from Israel, very talkative, very informative straight forward business like lady, I like her! 1. There will be NO further impact from the lawsuit going forward, its done. The only thing that might not be finished is between the lawyers and clients on the other side but as far as Sapiens is concerned it is finished. 2. Lauri is going to make analyst coverage a top priortiy, we can expect at least one large institution initiating coverage some time in 98' with hopefully more. She is seeing alot more institutions taking interest in Sapiens. 3. Sapiens is using y2k to in the door, they are having success in turning original y2k work into re-engineering companies systems with a total systems solution approach. 4. There is going to be a huge event in Europe in May where vendors will go and show their stuff. Sapiens is expected to shine. 5. BIG NEWS* IBM's trans connect is based on sapiens object pool, when IBM sets up a site Sapiens gets an intial license fee and then a FEE PER TRANSACTION! The first setup was announced with Ryder and IBM last year, the system is expected to go online mid 98. Sapiens will get .15-.30 per transaction IBM says Ryder will have 5-6 million transactions per year. This is the first set up using trans connect if it catches on this could be huge for sapiens. 6. Interesting note: Sapiens sees virtually no competition in the assembler language area, sapiens factory in Israel is currently able to handle 60 million lines of code, they can add capacity as needed very quickly. Sapiens is taking advantage of a very talented "flood" of assembler programers imigrating from Russia. Lauri said the russian imigrants are high quality programmers and with sapiens tool their productivity is increased 4-5x. Euro currency seen as another huge opportunity to get their foot in the door with some large corporations. Lauri stressed a number of times that Sapiens main goal is to get in with euro and y2k and then offer their rapid re-engeering services with a total systems approach.
